Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breastpump Bra

If you are a busy mother who pumps out milk to give your baby the best nutrition, you know how time consuming it can be. You can’t do anything else because your hands are occupied. If only there was a way to make pumping easier right? Well, you should try Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breastpump Bra
.

WHY THIS IS THE BEST HANDS-FREE PUMPING BRA EVER!

This pumping bra may look a little funny but it will really free up your hands. It allows you to multitask. You don’t need to keep holding the bottle as you pump. So imagine pumping and typing on your computer at the same time. You could also put on your make-up, sit down to enjoy your meal, play with your baby or chat on the phone while pumping comfortably.

One big advantage of this pumping bra is the adjustable fit. So even if you get a little bigger postpartum, you don’t need to buy a different size bra. When your breasts suddenly fill up like Dolly Parton, you just need to adjust the velcro at the back. The velcro adjusts the overall size. You can make in narrower or wider to fit your body. One mother said she could adjust the bra by about 5-7 inches (read her comments here). So no matter what size or shape you are, this bra will fit you. It will change with you. This is a money saver because you don’t have to spend extra buying different bra sizes to accommodate your fluctuating sizes.

There’s a zipper in the front. This feature allows you to adjust the bra’s circumference by 2″. With that, you can get the right position of the pump flanges.

You will love how it feels soft and secure. The material is comprised of 83% soft cotton and 17% spandex. It doesn’t feel scratchy. On the contrary, it feels really nice.

One problem with pumping bras is how the bottle tends to slip because the support is weak. The bottle doesn’t quite stay in place and then the milk leaks. Well, you DON’T have to worry about that with this Simple Wishes Bra. Even when the bottle is heavy with milk, it won’t fall. The bra can still support it. It seals the breast shields well and keeps it in place which prevents leakages.

If you need more support, you can use the straps.

COMPLAINS ABOUT IT

This is not a bra that you can wear throughout the day. It is not made for that and will not give you the support you need. Plus, it is conspicuous. If you wear a regular shirt, the seams and structure of the bra is quite visible. Definitely not something you can wear with your office clothes. Therefore, the best way to use this is to put it on when you pump, and take it off when you’re done. Some people find this quite a hassle. One mom complained how inconvenient it was to take off her top to change into the pumping bra and then change back again. This may not be a good idea to use in the office. However, it should not matter too much if you’re doing this at home. One thing though, this can be used on top of your nursing bra. You don’t need to take that off. Just pull down the nursing flaps and wrap the pumping bra around it.

Some mothers found the bra a little constrictive when they got it snug enough to support the breast pump. If you need to massage your breast to help in the let down, you can unzip it a little from the bottom so you can get your hand in without compromising the stability of the bottles. By the way, if you don’t like how the zips close top down, you can lose the strap and flip the bra over so the zip goes the other way round.

This pumping bra works with most breast pump manufacturers but it doesn’t work with the Avent Isis double electric pump 5 petal massage cushion. The solution is to change the pump’s flanges to PumpinPal Super Shield flanges.

Only 2 color choices but many are happy with the cute pink color (unless you’re not a fan of pink).

TIPS

  • Check the size chart to get the right fit. The XS/S/M size can accommodate even if you are 40DD.

  • You can dry it in the dryer. If you do, it is recommended that you put it in a lingerie bag so the velcro doesn’t catch on any other clothing that might be in the dryer with it.
  • Best to use 4 oz bottles. Someone tried to use 9 oz bottles and the supports did not hold.
  • If you are using the Medela flanges, you’ll notice that they are not angled. So, you can’t really lean back on your chair to pump. You can replace the flanges with Pump in Pal Super Shields because they have an angle designed into the flange that allows a user to almost recline while pumping without inhibiting milk flow down into the bottles.

VERDICT

The one thing that would make this pumping bra more perfect would be the convenience of wearing it like a normal breastfeeding bra. Unfortunately, there are reasons why the manufacturer doesn’t make it so. For the bra to function effectively as a hands-free pumping bra, it has to be tight enough to support the milk bottles. A bra that tight should not be worn for a long period of time. It is especially bad for mothers who are prone to mastitis. To make the bra comfortable for day wear, would compromise it’s effectiveness to securely hold the bottles.

If you don’t mind the little bit of time to strap on this pumping bra, you can enjoy your pumping time. Many mothers are giving it the thumbs up because now they can relax while they pump. Some even say they could pump out more breastmilk because they were relaxed.

If you are going to do a lot of pumping, this bra can make it easier for you. Excellent support and hands-free are the 2 main things.
